The City of Forsyth Board of Alderman unanimously voted, Monday night, (7/20) to pass an ordinance requiring face coverings to be worn in the city, in an effort to help the prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The ordinance requires people in the city limits in public spaces to wear a face covering or mask, with the exception of a few circumstances. The ordinance takes effect Wednesday (7/22) at 12:01 a.m. The ordinance also requires businesses in the city limits to post visible signage stating, “It is a violation of law to enter the premises without a face covering.” The ordinance gives authority to the police to fine violators up to $100.
